Mediterranean Medley!
I am so excited, I could throw a party! – which is essentially what I will be doing!
My first cooking class at the Culinaria Food Arts Studio has been officially set up and people are already signing up for it. It is called Mediterranean Medley and this will be the menu:
Stuffed Grape Leaves with Tahini Sauce
Portabella Pizzas
Lamb Kabobs with Baba Ganoush
Grilled Pita Bread with Herbs
Leftover Lamb Salad with Tzatziki Dressing
Banana Ice Cream and Toasted Coconut Bites
Pomegranate Vodka Spritzers and Italian Sodas
Although not all of it is Greek in nature, or even Mediterranean in nature (ex: the Banana Ice Cream Bites) it is “Greek-Inspired” . I have adored Greek food for years, and even though I am Italian, my love for Greek food is larger than even this! This menu is comprised of some of my favorite recipes and some I have made up myself and perfected over time.
I had a crazy time of it today writing down my recipes and methods to the Director of the school – lots of math and planning. I am a flybytheseatofyourpantscook which means I normally don’t measure anything, I am an eyeballer by nature and instinct. So I had to convert everything in my mind over to measurements. It was hard, but I did it. Now what I need to do is cook each dish over the course of the next few weeks to iron out any problem areas that I am yet unaware of.
So over the next few weeks I will be posting the recipes for this class as the
Mediterranean Recipe Of The Week so you can enjoy them as well. BUT, if you live in the area, you should sign up for the class by clicking here.

Congratulations, Jenn, the menu looks great. Iรยดm new to your site but I love the concept of reinventing leftovers. Oh, and before I forget, welcome to the Daring Bakers!

ooooh, it all sounds fabulous and delish! That’s a very user-friendly menu. You should add a few other lifestyle suggestions (ie Mediteranean music recommendations, etc.) so people can play a full on party!

Hi Maryam!
Such a great idea to add the music component! I will see if I can bring a CD to class to play in the background as well as recommending it to people.

Hi Marce!
I am so glad you are enjoying the site. Hope you get some good ideas!
And thanks for welcoming me to the Daring Bakers. I am bit nervous, as I am not a very good baker as of yet, but I think this will be a great way to BECOME a good baker – that’s pretty Daring already isn’t it!? ๐
